Ever since I can remember, dogs have been a huge part of my life.
From the moment I first held our golden retriever leash, I knew I was doomed. I started into the world of purebred dogs began with a love for our four-legged friends and my family, this took me to a love for all animals. I obtained my Animal Sciences Degree while being a stay at home mom and operating a 24/7 day home. I began showing with Kuvasz, then moved onto Bullmastiffs, and then Pugs and Pekingese. I began to handle for friends that could not attend shows or that needed help and the hook sank deeper and deeper into me.
Over the years, I've immersed myself in all things four legged and in 2016 wrote my first exams and received my first permit shortly after. I've spent many hours studying breed standards, learning about anatomy and movement, and learning more and more about handling dogs and the tricks that are used in dog showing. I've had the privilege of working with some incredible mentors and some not so incredible, however they all have helped me refine my eye for quality and my understanding of what makes each breed unique.
As a judge, I want the opportunity to give back to the sport that has given me so much. Every time I step into the ring to judge, I think of all those mentors that have shared with me their knowledge and do the best I can to judge to the standards. Integrity, fairness are at the core of my philosophy. Outside the ring, I am actively involved with a CKC committee, CDJA committee and at my work I am involved with indigenous and WOW committees.
I always look forward to judging the dogs, and engaging with exhibitors; and assisting junior handlers with any inquiries they may have is a delight that I consistently embrace.

My passion for purebred dogs started when I was 14. I was introduced to it by a dear friend and her Bullmastiffs. My passion for Newfoundlands began when I acquired my first one when I was 16.
The first litter of Ortona (Perm. Reg’d) Newfoundlands was born in 1990. I am beyond proud to say I produced a multi Best in Show winner in that litter and he was always owner handled. In subsequent litters there have been many champions, group winners, and placers. What also makes me smile is the certified therapy dogs and cherished family members who are beautiful enough to not look out of place in any breed ring.
I have handled other breeds in the working group including mastiffs and I have a soft spot for the big guys.
I am truly flattered to have been asked to judge your sweeps entry again.
